This edition of She the Future features the young and dynamic software engineer Garima Jha from HCLTech’s ERS team. Here’s her STEM story:

“The idea of innovation has always excited me and kindled curiosity in my mind. I realized early on that the best way to feed my curiosity would be to choose STEM as a way of life.

My dad was the first one to recognize my potential and inclination toward STEM sciences. He always thought this would be a perfect fit for me. Gradually, I started noticing it too. That coupled with enjoying these subjects led me to choose this career path.

I’ve learned that the two important things, in the long run, are one’s ability to adapt and evolve. Someone who knows how to adapt to changes and evolve with the fast-growing world of STEM will make an efficient worker in the future.

STEM is an ever-growing field and much like the field, I aim to be ever-growing in my skills also. I would like to upskill myself and become an expert in my field, developing skills that make me a key asset to every project that I take up.

My message to young girls aiming to take up a career in STEM is to always look for opportunities and never shy away from taking risks.”
