Over the past six months, as part of my objectives, I made a deliberate effort to acquaint myself with AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology. Among the tools I chose to incorporate into my routine was ChatGPT. As an experiment, I utilized ChatGPT daily over the last six months to assess its utility and determine how it could assist me. Please continue reading to discover the results of this engaging and enlightening experiment.

1.- Let’s talk about Prompt Engineering

Before delving into the actual results of the experiment, I would like to take this opportunity to explain the concept of prompt engineering, as it plays a crucial role in obtaining improved outcomes from ChatGPT and other AIs, such as MidJourney.

Prompts serve as the means by which we communicate with AI, whether through console commands or text input within the UI. Now, prompt engineering involves the skill of optimizing these commands to elicit better responses from ChatGPT, or in our specific case, to enhance the quality of answers it provides.

2.- First Steps into AI

At the outset of my experiment, it was somewhat challenging to envision how I could leverage ChatGPT to assist me in my daily life. I began with small, simple tasks, such as requesting a recipe, seeking advice on caring for specific plants in my home, and soliciting recommendations for movies or shows to watch. At this stage, I lacked confidence in my abilities and the potential utility of this tool, but that would soon change for the better as the days progressed.

3.- Riding Solo No More

Let’s fast-forward three months into this experience.

Initially, I utilized ChatGPT for the common tasks that most people would typically engage in. However, after three months of dedicating time each day to discover new ways to incorporate AI into my daily life, I developed a genuine appreciation for the tool and felt that my investment of time had truly paid off.

By the end of the three-month mark, I had seamlessly integrated ChatGPT into my work routine. It aided me in tasks such as optimizing code, generating fresh code ideas to enhance my own projects for increased efficiency, brainstorming ideas, and refining text documents.

4.- THE 6 MONTHS MARK

Now we are at the final stage of the experiment, the 6th month!

What do I take from this experiment?

Well, I can say I’m very happy with the results, not only I got to talk on this blog about a new technology that really excites me, I’ve now a new powerful tool for my belt that can assist me every day most of my tasks, from the very mundane like what to make for dinner to learning new technologies and libraries for my code.

Would I recommend anyone to try ChatGPT or another AI?

Sure I would recommend 100% to everyone to try it, you certainly don’t need a hammer to put a nail on the wall but I bet given the task you will like to have it, so why not take advantage of this hammer called AI.

Will I continue learning more about ChatGPT and other AIs?

You can bet I will, recently there has been an AI tool for everything, on my 6 months experiment I’ve tried other AIs that were not the topic of this blog and maybe I will bring them up later in another entry, but sure, every one of the tools I’ve tried had something to offer and I was only scratching the surface.

5.- Give AI a Chance

In conclusion, I say try it you all, the only thing you have to lose at this point is absolutely nothing.

Farewell and let’s embrace the future!
