Philippines Hosts 2014 International BPO Summit

The Philippines hosts top executives and key stakeholders from around the globe this October to share insights and address challenges at the sixth annual international IT-BPM Summit (IIS) in Makati. The summit, themed “Drive Change: Shape the Future,” runs from October 13 to 14 and gives outsourcing companies the opportunity to present innovations, share ideas, and network with other professionals and potential investors.

Organized by the Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP), the summit brings together analysts, domain experts, speakers and officials from the private and public sectors to discuss issues and trends faced by the IT-BPM industry.

IBPAP senior executive director Gigi Virata said that the IIS aims to equip and empower industry stakeholders to step up and take action amid the technological revolution and robust growth happening in the IT-BPO sector.

Virata added that the IT-BPM sector is now one of the country’s strongest growth drivers, with a target revenue of $25 billion by 2016. The IIS will help assess the outsourcing sector’s developments and pinpoint new growth paths’ to sustain the Philippines’ offshoring/outsourcing boom.

Some topics to be covered in the summit are “everything-as-a-service” trend, human resources data analytics, business and social media, and enterprise mobility. Participants will also talk about country brand strategies, the rise of knowledge process outsourcing (KPO), and the impact of the ASEAN Economic Community to the industry.

Virata said that the IIS encourages participation and engagement, and using exchange to respond to the fast-evolving IT-BPM landscape. Local and foreign delegates can directly participate in the discussions and leverage networking opportunities with influential IT-BPM leaders, filed experts, and speakers.
